DOT Certified Driver
Our Greendale based client is a manufacturer of the finest industrial knives and hardened wear products and is looking for qualified drivers who are DOT certified. Drivers will be responsible for driving a motor vehicle (automobile, utility van, pickup, light truck, etc.) up to 26,000 pounds gross vehicle weight (GVW) on the public highways to transport non-hazardous materials or equipment. The job typically requires a valid driver's license, but not a commercial driver's license (CDL). Driving will be primarily local but there would be occasional trips to Green Bay and back. This is a 1st shift role from 7:00am-3:30pm with a competitive salary and includes benefits after 90 days.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate light stake body or van type truck to pick up and deliver materials, supplies, equipment, etc., as directed
- Operator's license required
- Plan route and load truck to facilitate orderly dispatching
- Maintain and service truck needs e.g. gasoline, oil and lubrication, cooling system and battery
- May make minor repairs and adjustments
- Tooling requirements per Employee handbook
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Shift Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager, or Traffic Department
- All work is to be done in accordance with established OSHA and industry safety standards
Certifications, Licenses, Registration requirements:
- Valid Wisconsin Vehicle Operators License with good driving record
- DOT certified physical exam
- Must be forklift certified (through client)
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
